Dental Hygienist

Duties

• Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, ensuring each patient’s safety and comfort.
• Clean teeth using ultrasonic scalers, hand instruments, and polishing tools while adhering to infection control protocols.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary advice, and preventive care strategies to promote long-term dental health.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records using Dentrix Ascend.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all interactions.
• Collaborate with dentists and dental receptionists to coordinate patient care and schedule follow-up appointments efficiently.

Skills

• Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation to ensure precise record keeping.
• Experience working with Dentrix Ascend for seamless patient management.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient data.
• Knowledge of various dental specialties including pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures.
• Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
