Duties
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Perform local anesthesia for hygiene and operative patients
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
- Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency.
- Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to safeguard patient information and promote infection control.
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state licensing boards.
- Valid Local Anesthesia License/Permit in accordance with state licensing boards.
- Proven experience working in dental clinics or dental offices with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for accurate documentation review.
- Experience with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and patient care management.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health and infection control standards.
- Ability to operate dental equipment such as medical imaging devices and EMR systems efficiently.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and documentation review processes. Pay: $270.00 - $300.00 per day
