Dental Hygienist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients, focusing on preventive oral health measures. You will work closely with the dental team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care while maintaining a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed for diagnosis.
• Assist in the documentation of patient medical histories and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and hygiene.
• Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care, including assisting during procedures when necessary.
• Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.

Skills

• Proficiency in Dentrix software for managing patient records and scheduling appointments.
• Knowledge of medical coding for accurate billing and insurance processing.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices to maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Familiarity with dental terminology and anatomy knowledge essential for effective communication within the team and with patients.
• Experience in dental assisting is a plus, enhancing teamwork capabilities during procedures.
• Ability to manage medical records efficiently, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
• Competence in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow during treatments.
• Skills in medical imaging, including taking high-quality radiographs for diagnostic purposes.
• Attention to detail in documentation review to ensure accuracy in patient records.
