Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients, focusing on preventive oral health measures. You will work closely with the dental team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care while maintaining a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed for diagnosis.
- Assist in the documentation of patient medical histories and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Implement infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and hygiene.
- Collaborate with dentists to provide comprehensive care, including assisting during procedures when necessary.
- Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Skills
- Proficiency in Dentrix software for managing patient records and scheduling appointments.
- Knowledge of medical coding for accurate billing and insurance processing.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and anatomy knowledge essential for effective communication within the team and with patients.
- Experience in dental assisting is a plus, enhancing teamwork capabilities during procedures.
- Ability to manage medical records efficiently, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Competence in four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow during treatments.
- Skills in medical imaging, including taking high-quality radiographs for diagnostic purposes.
- Attention to detail in documentation review to ensure accuracy in patient records.
