Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring optimal patient oral health.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
• Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
• Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term health.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Support infection control protocols by adhering to sterilization standards, managing dental supplies, and ensuring a safe clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Dental Hygienist license with current state registration.
• Proven experience in dental office settings with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
• Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding for documentation review.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and pediatric patient care techniques.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport.
• Knowledge of infection control practices, anatomy, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice.
