Overview
Dental hygienist needed to fill in for vacation time 7/27-7/30 and 8/24- 8/25 and possible part time work. Completely digital practice with intra oral cameras, digital radiographs and cbct. Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures including prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and fluoride treatments to maintain oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to tailor treatment plans.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower them with lifelong healthy habits.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Manage medical records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after treatments to ensure safety; review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting.
- Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review for accurate record keeping.
- Skilled in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, charting, and billing purposes.
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately while maintaining professionalism.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing chairside assisting skills and supporting team collaboration.
