Overview
We are seeking a friendly, dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice for one to two days per week. Flexible schedule, no Saturdays! The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of dental procedures and terminology. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in patient assessment, education, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety in our clinic.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations.
- Assist with patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans.
- Take and develop dental radiographs using medical imaging equipment while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Ensure aseptic techniques are maintained throughout all clinical procedures to prevent infection.
- Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards.
- Manage patient flow efficiently while providing compassionate care tailored to our patients.
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment following infection control guidelines and OSHA standards.
- Stay current with dental terminology, medical coding, and best practices in general dentistry and pediatrics.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic technique.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality.
