Dental Hygienist Full Time Bi Lingual English/Spanish

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Full-Time Bilingual Dental Hygienist fluent in English and Spanish at Lakewood Dental Excellence in Bradenton to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and oral health assessments. Across our practices, we have 12 amazing doctors, a support staff of 60 plus and a full range of dental clinical procedures including sedation, preventative, restorative, cosmetic, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, implants and Invisalign.

Position is 4 days per week, 9-10 Hours per day. Monday thru Thursday. Our patient hours are 9am to 6pm Mon & Wed and 7am to 4pm Tue & Thu. Minimum 3 years Dental Hygiene experience. Open Dental Software, Itero and 3 Shape scanners experience is a plus for this all digital office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs.
  • Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort.
  • Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Manage patient flow efficiently by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
  • Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and data entry.
  • Support infection control procedures by following strict sterilization standards and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
  • Assist with medical coding related to dental procedures for billing purposes when necessary.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a general dentistry setting.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
  • Experience working with EMR systems such as Open Dental is highly desirable.
  • Previous exposure to dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, and medical records management is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, providing culturally sensitive care to diverse patient populations.

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
