Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, tailored to pediatric patients’ needs
- Assess vital signs and medical history to ensure safe and effective treatment planning
- Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to proper aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Educate children and their guardians on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Assist dentists with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate patient histories and treatment documentation
- Maintain detailed records of patient care, including medical coding and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system documentation review
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with pediatric dentistry experience preferred
- Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques
- Experience with pediatric dentistry, including working with young children in a clinical setting
- Skilled in chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging procedures
- Familiarity with EMR systems, medical coding, and documentation review processes
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and their families
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology related to dental practice

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
