Dental Hygienist’/front office

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, provide oral health education, and assist the dentist during procedures. If you are passionate about oral health and have excellent communication skills, we would love to hear from you. The position also presents the opportunity to work part-time as a hygienist and also in the front office.

Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including oral cancer screenings and periodontal evaluations
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for at-home care
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments and ensuring patient comfort
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Eaglesoft or Epic software
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile work environment
- Follow medical coding guidelines for accurate billing and insurance claims
- Comply with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality

Requirements:
- Valid state dental hygiene license
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix or similar
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health practices
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Commitment to continuing education to stay updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene
