Dental Hygienist/Part-time

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. This is a part-time position only for Thursday and Friday if possible, but at least Thursday. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing dental cleanings, and supporting overall dental health initiatives. Applicants should possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of dental terminology and procedures. Must have anesthetic license. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive dental cleanings including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments.
  • Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs, medical history, and current dental concerns.
  • Assist in chairside procedures such as cavity preparations, restorations, and other general dentistry treatments.
  • Take and develop medical imaging (X-rays) while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies.
  • Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with dentists to develop individualized treatment plans for pediatric and adult patients.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety and infection prevention.
  • Manage patient flow efficiently while providing compassionate care tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
  • Ensure all documentation is reviewed accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental software platforms including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and chairside assisting.
  • Ability to perform detailed patient assessments and provide excellent patient care with empathy.
  • Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and HIPAA compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
  • Knowledge of general dentistry procedures as well as specialized pediatric dental practices is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
