Job Overview
Pearl Dentistry is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Insurance Billing & Claims Specialist to manage insurance claims, billing, and revenue cycle processes across multiple dental offices. The ideal candidate has strong experience with dental insurance, claim submission, follow-ups, and resolving billing discrepancies to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Submit electronic dental insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review and verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Follow up on outstanding insurance claims and unpaid balances.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and post payments correctly.
- Identify and resolve claim rejections, denials, and underpayments.
- Work with office managers to ensure correct fee schedules and insurance plans are entered in the PMS system.
- Monitor accounts receivable reports and maintain insurance aging.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and appeals.
- Assist offices with coordination of benefits and claim corrections when needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of communications with insurance companies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of dental insurance billing experience required.
- Experience with dental practice management software (Eaglesoft preferred).
- Strong understanding of PPO dental insurance plans, umbrella networks, and fee schedules.
- Knowledge of ADA dental codes and claim documentation requirements.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage billing for multiple dental offices simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with insurance aging management and appeals.
- Familiarity with Careington, Connection Dental, GEHA, and other PPO networks.
- Experience supporting multi-location dental practices.
