Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Dental Insurance Coordinator to join our dynamic dental practice team. Responsibilities
- Review patient insurance information and verify coverage details prior to treatment
- Accurately code dental procedures using CDT (Current Dental Terminology) codes, including DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes
- Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance carriers, ensuring compliance with payer requirements
- Follow up on outstanding claims, identify denials or delays, and coordinate resubmissions or appeals as needed
- Maintain detailed records of medical billing, coding adjustments, and correspondence with insurance companies
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure proper documentation of medical records and treatment plans
- Stay current on changes in insurance policies, coding standards, and healthcare regulations affecting dental billing practices
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical or dental office billing and coding, with a strong understanding of dental insurance processes
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for accurate documentation management
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and the intricacies of medical collection procedures
- Proficiency in DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding standards, and dental-specific coding practices
- Ability to interpret insurance policies and explain coverage details clearly to patients
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail to ensure error-free billing submissions
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with insurance providers, patients, and team members
