Dental Insurance Coordinator Billing PPO / Medicaid

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Insurance Coordinator specializing in Billing for PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) and Medicaid plans. Responsibilities

  • Manage dental insurance claims processing for PPO and Medicaid plans, ensuring accurate and prompt submission of claims using appropriate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding systems.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage prior to procedures, including insurance eligibility checks and benefit verification to optimize reimbursement.
  • Review medical records and dental records to ensure completeness and accuracy for billing purposes.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of managed care policies, Medicaid regulations, HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliance, and current coding standards.
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies to resolve claim denials or discrepancies, appealing when necessary to secure rightful reimbursements.
  • Keep detailed records of all billing activities, medical coding, insurance correspondence, and payment histories in accordance with privacy standards.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure accurate documentation of procedures using CPT codes and proper ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), supporting efficient claims processing.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in medical office billing with a focus on dental insurance claims, including PPO and Medicaid plans.
  • Strong knowledge of managed care processes, medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding practices.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, and ICD coding standards for dental procedures.
  • Experience with insurance verification procedures and handling medical billing inquiries effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and billing documentation.
  • Office experience in a healthcare or dental setting is highly preferred; familiarity with dental office workflows is a plus. Pay: $35.00 - $60.00 per hour
