River Crossing Family Dental is an established private general dental practice in Riverton seeking an experienced Dental Insurance & Financial Coordinator. This is not an entry-level receptionist position. The person in this role will take primary ownership of dental insurance claims, accounts receivable, patient financial arrangements, and treatment-plan presentations.
Schedule
- Monday: 7:45 a.m.–5:15 p.m.
- Tuesday: 7:45 a.m.–4:15 p.m.
- Wednesday: 7:45 a.m.–5:15 p.m.
- Thursday: 7:45 a.m.–4:15 p.m.
- Approximately one Friday per month replaces Monday. You will not work five days that week.
Compensation
$22–$28 per hour, based on dental insurance, collections, Open Dental, and treatment-coordination experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Submit accurate dental insurance claims promptly, including required radiographs, periodontal charting, narratives, and other attachments
- Verify benefits and prepare accurate estimates of insurance and patient responsibility
- Post insurance payments, EOBs, and ERAs accurately
- Work outstanding insurance claims and aging reports consistently
- Resolve denials, corrected claims, appeals, secondary claims, and predeterminations
- Maintain accurate patient ledgers and insurance information in Open Dental
- Present treatment plans clearly and confidently after the doctor explains the clinical diagnosis and recommendations
- Explain insurance estimates, patient portions, financing choices, and payment arrangements
- Collect deposits and help patients move forward with recommended care
- Follow up consistently on unscheduled treatment
- Monitor patient accounts receivable and communicate respectfully regarding past-due balances
- Document collection and insurance activity thoroughly
- Provide regular visibility into outstanding claims, aging accounts, collections, and unscheduled treatment
- Support the patient-facing front office during peak periods while maintaining dedicated time for insurance and financial work
Qualifications
- At least two years of dental front-office, insurance, billing, or financial-coordination experience required
- Demonstrated experience submitting dental claims and following them through payment
- Experience interpreting EOBs and working insurance and patient accounts receivable
- Knowledge of dental terminology, CDT codes, insurance limitations, and treatment estimates
- Previous treatment-plan presentation and patient-financing experience strongly preferred
- Open Dental experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable having direct, compassionate conversations about money
- Strong accuracy, organization, documentation, and follow-through
- Professional communication with patients, insurance carriers, the doctor, and the clinical team
