We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Dental Lab Technician specializing in Model Work, including pouring, trimming, and scanning dental models. In this vital role, you will contribute to the creation of precise dental prosthetics and restorations by preparing and finishing models that meet the highest standards of accuracy and quality. Duties

  • Prepare dental models by pouring dental stone or plaster into impression trays with precision and consistency
  • Trim, contour, and finish models to exact specifications using hand tools and laboratory equipment
  • Scan physical models using advanced 3D scanning technology to create digital impressions for CAD/CAM systems
  • Ensure all model work adheres to strict infection control protocols and maintains aseptic techniques
  • Verify measurements with tools such as micrometers to guarantee dimensional accuracy
  • Collaborate with dental professionals to interpret digital files and adjust models accordingly
  • Maintain detailed documentation of each step in the model fabrication process, including medical records when applicable

Requirements

  • Prior laboratory experience in dental fabrication or related medical fields is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical imaging techniques is essential
  • Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and 3D scanning technology is a plus
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting
  • Ability to accurately measure using precision tools such as micrometers and calipers
  • Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, HIPAA regulations, and medical documentation standards
  • Experience with dental office operations, including chairside assisting or dental assisting background is advantageous
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry, medical coding, vital signs assessment, and patient assessment procedures is beneficial
