Job Title: Dental Nurse (or Dental Assistant)

Role Summary
We are looking for a dedicated, GDC-registered Dental Nurse (or certified Dental Assistant) to provide efficient and calm clinical support to our dentists, ensure patient comfort, and maintain strict cross-infection control standards. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities1. Clinical Chairside Support
- Prepare the surgery, instruments, and materials for all clinical procedures (e.g., restorations, extractions, endodontics, cosmetic treatments).
- Pass instruments and retract/monitor during procedures using an "around-the-clock" safe zone technique.
- Mix dental materials (impressions, cements, composites) as required.
- Monitor patient vital signs and provide reassurance to anxious patients (including children and special needs patients).
2. Infection Control & Health & Safety
- Strictly adhere to HTM 01-05 (or local equivalent) decontamination protocols.
- Clean, sterilize, and store all reusable dental instruments using ultrasonic baths, autoclaves, and vacuum sealers.
- Dispose of clinical and sharps waste correctly.
- Perform daily and weekly checks on emergency equipment (oxygen, suction, defibrillator) and autoclaves.
3. Patient Care & Communication
- Greet patients, update medical histories, and obtain signed consent forms.
- Explain post-operative instructions clearly (e.g., after extractions, root canal treatments).
- Take and process radiographs (DPTs, PAs, BW) if qualified and under prescription.
- Manage medical emergencies effectively (including CPR/AED use).
4. Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate contemporaneous clinical notes.
- Monitor stock levels and alert the practice manager when ordering consumables.
- Assist with lab work: send/receive cases, check models for quality.
- Support reception with phone calls or appointment booking during downtime.
Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications & Experience
- UK: Registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) as a Dental Nurse. National Certificate in Dental Nursing (NEBDN or equivalent).
- US/Other: High school diploma and completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program; radiology certification and CPR/BLS.
- Minimum [X] years of post-qualification experience.
- Valid [Radiology / CPR / Sedation monitoring] certificate if required.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong four-handed dentistry skills.
- Working knowledge of [SOE / Exact / Dentrix / Dentally] practice management software.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Fluent in verbal and written [English] – additional languages a plus.

Pay: QAR69,000.00 - QAR98,000.00 per year
