Dental Nurse/Receptionist

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and assist with their check-in and check-out procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise dental instruments in accordance with health and safety standards
• Assist dentists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and patient records using IT systems
• Provide clear information to patients regarding treatments, aftercare, and billing processes
• Maintain organisation of the reception area, ensuring it remains tidy and welcoming
• Handle telephone enquiries professionally, directing calls appropriately and providing excellent customer service
• Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and stock management

Experience

• Previous experience in a dental or healthcare setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Good understanding of patient care principles and confidentiality requirements
• Proficiency in IT systems relevant to dental practice management (e.g., appointment scheduling software)
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Compassionate approach with excellent interpersonal skills to support patients of all ages
