Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Office Business Assistant to support the efficient operation of our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, a comprehensive understanding of medical and dental office workflows, and the ability to manage patient interactions with professionalism and care. This role involves handling dental billing, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and maintaining accurate dental and medical records. Responsibilities
- Manage patient intake processes, including appointment scheduling and data entry using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Open Dental.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits to facilitate accurate billing and claims processing.
- Handle patient payments efficiently while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Provide front desk support by greeting patients, managing multi-line phone systems, and maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Assist with dental billing procedures, including claim submission.
- Maintain organized dental records through digital documentation review.
- Ensure compliance with health information management standards and documentation protocols in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare setting is required; clinic experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology, CDT coding, and dental billing practices.
- Familiarity with practice management systems such as Open Dental or Dentix is essential for daily operations.
- Strong background in dental administrative support including insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and patient service.
- Proven clerical experience involving front desk duties, multi-line phone handling, filing systems, and office management tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills combined with attention to detail in documentation review and health information management are critical for success in this role. Pay: $25.52 - $29.50 per hour
