Dental Office Floater position

Duties

• Provide versatile support across clinical and administrative areas, including chairside assisting, front desk duties, and sterilization processes
• Assist with patient check-in and check-out, ensuring accurate medical documentation and records management in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
• Support clinical staff with procedures like X-ray imaging, vital signs measurement, and maintaining infection control protocols using aseptic techniques
• Help prepare treatment rooms with necessary supplies and ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
• Facilitate four-handed dentistry by passing instruments efficiently during procedures such as prosthodontics or endodontics treatments
• Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices while maintaining proper infection control standards
• Assist with pediatric dentistry cases by understanding specific needs related to pediatrics and supporting child-friendly procedures

Skills

• Proficiency in EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice
• Experience with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, aseptic technique, and infection control practices
• Familiarity with X-ray procedures, vital signs measurement, and the use of 3D scanners for diagnostic purposes
• Ability to perform general dentistry tasks with a focus on pediatric dentistry when needed
• Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical coding for accurate recordkeeping
• Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or front desk support to ensure positive patient interactions
