Dental office front desk

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Front Desk Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, scheduling, and patient care processes. A background in medical office management or experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
  • Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks.
  • Verify insurance information and handle medical billing inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with medical coding using ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding systems.
  • Handle multi-line phone systems, addressing inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
  • Perform clerical tasks including filing, typing, and data entry using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Review care plans and assist with patient intake processes.
  • Provide administrative support to healthcare providers as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a front desk role within a medical or dental office is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Athenahealth or Eaglesoft is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and health information management.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply for enhanced patient communication.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in typing and data entry (10-key typing preferred).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review.
