Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Office Insurance Biller/Manager to oversee the billing and insurance processes within a busy dental practice. Duties
- Prepare and submit insurance claims using accurate CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), and other relevant codes to maximize reimbursement.
- Review and verify patient medical records for completeness and accuracy before billing.
- Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and processing patient payments efficiently.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure proper documentation of procedures in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Stay current with updates in medical coding standards, insurance policies, and billing regulations to ensure compliance.
- Resolve claim denials by analyzing reasons for rejection, appealing when appropriate, and correcting errors promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities, insurance correspondence, and payment histories for auditing purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing within a dental or healthcare setting, with strong knowledge of dental insurance processes.
- Familiarity with DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding systems, and medical terminology.
- Strong understanding of dental collections procedures and accounts receivable management.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of industry standards for dental coding and billing compliance.
