Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic EDDA (Expanded Duty Dental Assistant) to join our vibrant dental practice. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional patient care by assisting the dentist during various procedures, managing clinical tasks, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the office. Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist with a wide range of clinical procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment following infection prevention management and aseptic techniques
  • Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols
  • Manage patient care by taking vital signs, medical history, and ensuring accurate medical documentation using patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Ensure proper dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection control standards are maintained throughout the day
  • Provide chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
  • Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to promote oral health awareness

Requirements

  • Valid EDDA certification with current licensure to practice as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant
  • Proven experience in dental clinic settings with knowledge of general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry procedures
  • Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies
  • Skilled in dental X-ray techniques, dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic techniques
  • Familiarity with dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray units, and other clinical tools
  • Excellent patient management skills with the ability to handle medical documentation and coding accurately
  • Knowledge of anatomy related to dental procedures and effective communication skills for patient education

Pay: $26.52 - $36.00 per hour
