Dental Office Manager

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the dental office team, including administrative staff, dental assistants, and hygienists, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Oversee fiscal management activities such as budgeting, billing, coding, and financial reporting to ensure profitability and operational efficiency
  • Manage medical office operations utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like SoftDent to maintain accurate patient records and streamline workflows
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, JCAHO standards, and other healthcare policies to protect patient privacy and uphold quality standards
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, insurance processing, managed care plans, and billing procedures to optimize patient flow and revenue cycle management
  • Supervise human resources functions including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development initiatives
  • Maintain clinic experience standards by monitoring medical records accuracy, medical terminology adherence, and clinical procedures in acute or hospital care settings when applicable

Experience

  • Proven experience in medical or dental office management with a strong background in healthcare operations
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience overseeing administrative or clinical teams within a healthcare setting
  • Extensive knowledge of dental office systems such as SoftDent; familiarity is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of fiscal management practices including budgeting, financial management, and billing processes
  • Experience working within HIPAA guidelines and managing medical records securely in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Background in medical administrative support roles with proficiency in medical terminology and clinic workflows
  • Prior exposure to managed care environments or hospital experience is advantageous but not required
