Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the dental office, including staff supervision, scheduling, and workflow optimization
- Coordinate patient treatment plans by explaining procedures, financing options, and insurance benefits clearly and confidently
- Oversee billing, coding, and collections using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure the confidentiality of all medical records and patient information
- Supervise administrative staff, providing training in medical administrative support, human resources policies, and office procedures
- Monitor practice financials through budgeting, fiscal management, and revenue cycle management to support sustainable growth
- Facilitate communication between patients, dental providers, insurance companies, and external healthcare entities to streamline care delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience in dental office management or a similar healthcare setting with strong supervisory skills
- Extensive knowledge of medical office systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, eClinicalWorks, or Epic EMR/EHR systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA and JCAHO requirements
- Demonstrated ability in fiscal management including budgeting, financial management, and managed care processes
- Strong background in medical administrative support with proficiency in billing, coding, insurance claims processing, and utilization management
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating treatment plans and explaining financial options to patients effectively
- Experience supervising staff members within a clinical or hospital environment is highly desirable
