Duties
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the dental clinic, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow optimization to maximize efficiency.
- Coordinate patient treatment plans by explaining procedures, financing options, and scheduling follow-up appointments to ensure clarity and patient satisfaction.
- Supervise administrative staff, including receptionists and dental assistants, providing training, performance evaluations, and support in human resources functions.
- Oversee financial management tasks such as billing, coding, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft to maintain accurate medical records and streamline clinical documentation.
- Monitor clinic performance metrics and implement process improvements to enhance service quality and operational productivity.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including JCAHO standards, managed care policies, and acute care protocols while maintaining a safe environment for staff and patients.
Skills
- Proven experience in dental office management or healthcare management with strong supervisory capabilities.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and EMR/EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Epic.
- Expertise in fiscal management including budgeting, financial management, and utilization management within a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with dental clinic operations combined with experience in managing medical administrative support functions.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance standards along with medical administrative procedures related to nursing or acute care environments.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating treatment plans effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
