Overview
Join a dynamic dental practice as a Dental Office Receptionist, where your energetic and welcoming presence will set the tone for an exceptional patient experience. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact, ensuring smooth operations at the front desk while providing outstanding customer service. Your expertise in medical administrative support and familiarity with dental terminology will help streamline patient intake, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification processes. This position offers an engaging environment where your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our clinic.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, scheduling appointments and answering inquiries
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks using systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Athenahealth
  • Collect patient information accurately, including intake forms and medical history updates
  • Review and update medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review
  • Assist with billing procedures, including medical collection processes and coding using CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes, and Meditech or eClinicalWorks EMR systems
  • Maintain organized filing of dental records, medical records, and administrative documents for efficient office management
  • Support clinic operations by performing clerical tasks such as data entry, typing (including 10 key typing), and document preparation

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic or medical office environment is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Dentrix
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and health information management practices
  • Experience with insurance verification procedures including Medicare and Medicaid billing processes
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
  • Excellent computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite and office management software like Eaglesoft or Athenahealth
  • Proven customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly under HIPAA guidelines
  • Office experience involving front desk responsibilities, medical scheduling, filing, and multi-line phone systems
