Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Office Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join our vibrant dental practice. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, answer multi-line phone systems, and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and care
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification using systems like Dentrix
- Schedule appointments efficiently utilizing dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring optimal clinic flow
- Maintain accurate medical and dental records in electronic health record (EHR) systems including Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms
- Assist with medical billing and collection processes, including coding using CPT, ICD-9/10 codes, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Manage administrative duties such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), documentation review, and maintaining organized patient files
- Support clinic operations by coordinating intake procedures, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and assisting with front desk duties
Skills
- Extensive experience with medical collection processes and medical billing procedures
- Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth; familiarity with dental management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings
- Ability to perform CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and medical terminology accurately
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
- Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Demonstrated experience in clinic or dental office environments with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and correspondence purposes
- Experience with insurance verification processes for Medicare or private insurers; familiarity with health information management practices is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
