Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Front Office professional to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice, facilitating patient interactions, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations, including answering multi-line phone systems and scheduling appointments.
  • Verify patient insurance information and handle insurance verification processes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure proper documentation review.
  • Assist with medical billing and coding, utilizing knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10.
  • Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for patient management.
  • Handle medical collections and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding accounts.
  • Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing correspondence.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding care plans and treatment options while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
  • Support the dental team by coordinating patient intake processes and maintaining a clean and organized front office environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology is a plus.
  • Strong background in medical office management or administrative support roles.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills necessary for office management tasks.
  • Knowledge of health information management practices and medical terminology is essential.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong typing skills with experience in 10 key typing preferred.
  • Understanding of medical coding practices related to insurance billing is advantageous.
