Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient intake with professionalism and efficiency
- Schedule appointments using dental practice management software (Open Dental), ensuring optimal clinic flow.
- Present treatment plans with confidence.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits utilizing systems like DentalXChange, and communicate coverage details clearly to patients.
- Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle billing procedures accurately using dental billing and coding knowledge.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately, and managing appointment reminders
- Support clinical staff by managing dental records, filing documents, and updating electronic health records.
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist in a dental clinic.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly under HIPAA guidelines
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
- Prior clinic experience is preferred; familiarity with insurance verification processes and dental billing procedures is essential.
- Ability to manage front desk operations confidently while maintaining professionalism in fast-paced environments
