Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Greet and make initial contact with patients as they arrive for their dental appointment.
2. Prepare new charts for new patients.
3. Ensure and assist patients in completing required documentation and intake.
4. Maintains and updates files on all recall and missed appointments.
5. Manage the dental daily schedule; make new and return appointments for patients.
6. Confirms scheduled appointments by phone 48 hours in advance.
7. Pulling charts of established patients with appointments scheduled for the next day.
8. Process progress and charge slips for each patient.
9. Complete the daily record sheet, which includes patient's names, procedures performed, value of service and patient’s costs.
IO. Dental data entry in RPMS/PCC Data Entry system.
11. Secretarial duties include typing correspondence for the Dental Director, answering telephones, transcribing, and forwarding messages to correct personnel, and relaying telephone calls and personal visitors to appropriate sections of the Health Center.
12. Handles dental clinic cash transactions (insurance co-payments or private pay payments) and is responsible for balancing the cash drawer with receipts at the end of each workday. Responsible for ensuring receipts are turned into fiscal office each day and daily logs turned in daily.
13. Training and will be aware of processing dental insurance and denti-cal billing claims.
14. Checking pre-authorization and verification of all insurances and benefits.
15. Handles all dental service. Willing to stay after regular scheduled hours per the Dental Director/Dentist request.
I 6. Takes all mail including dental lab cases to appropriate place to be mailed off.
17. Attending training as directed by the dental director or supervisor.
18. Additional duties required per dental director/supervisor.
19. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
20. Prepares required reports to RVIHC Administrator and FundingAgencies.
21. Responsible for maintaining HIPPA in office/procedure area.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Must have experience in dealing with the public.
3. Must be responsible, punctual, and courteous in all duties.
4. Maintain strict confidentiality.
5. Knowledge of computer use.
6. Must comply with HIPPA laws and regulations.
7. Must be willing to take and pass pre-employment drug screening.
8. Previous RPMS experience.
9. Must adhere to the RVIHC Personnel Policies & Procedures.
