DENTAL RECEPTIONIST- Experience required

Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and professional Dental Receptionist to join our Coral Gables Dental Practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires someone with energy, compassion, and a strong work ethic. Previous experience with scheduling and administrative tasks are requires. Bilingual abilities and clinic experience are highly valued to ensure seamless patient interactions and office workflow.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using dental software.
  • Handle phone etiquette professionally, answer inquiries, and provide excellent patient service in a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Verify insurance coverage and assist with billing.
  • Schedule appointments accurately through multi-line phone systems while maintaining efficient patient flow.
  • Manage patient records, ensuring proper documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate with the doctor and staff on a any schedule changes.
  • Prepare and review care plans, documentation, and medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain office organization through filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR systems).

Skills & Requirements

  • Proven experience in a dental or medical office environment with strong clerical skills.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and health information management.
  • Proficiency in dental practice management software or experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, or eClinicalWorks is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry accuracy.
  • Strong customer service skills with professional phone etiquette; bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Prior clinic or healthcare administrative support experience is highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
