Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist / Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. This dual-role position offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while supporting the clinical operations of our practice. Duties
- Greet, check-in and check-out patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment while managing appointment scheduling using Eaglesoft dental software.
- Verify patient insurance information and maintain accurate dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, including sterilization and aseptic technique adherence to infection control standards.
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including chairside assisting for general dentistry.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when necessary, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
- Record vital signs and medical history information accurately for each patient to support comprehensive treatment planning.
- Manage dental documentation, coding, and billing processes efficiently to ensure accurate dental records and financial transactions.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, including dental imaging tools and dental instruments, ensuring proper sterilization and functionality.
- Uphold infection control standards by practicing proper aseptic techniques and maintaining a clean clinical environment at all times.
Skills
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft dental software for scheduling, billing, and record-keeping.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various dental procedures across multiple specialties including pediatric dentistry and prosthodontics.
- Experience with chairside assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment safely, including X-ray machines and 3D scanners.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, and collaborating with team members.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Understanding of medical terminology and coding practices necessary for accurate documentation and billing processes.
