Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist with experience using Dentrix to join our vibrant dental team. This role is vital in creating a welcoming environment for patients while ensuring smooth administrative operations. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Schedule appointments efficiently using Dentrix Ascend and other dental office management software
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing
- Collect payments, perform medical collections, and manage billing procedures with accuracy
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including medical history forms and treatment plans
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately
- Assist with patient intake, appointment confirmations, and follow-up communications
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist with Dentrix expertise
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing practices
- Ability to handle medical collections and perform insurance verification confidently
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual abilities are highly desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills including 10-key typing for efficient data entry
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and healthcare privacy regulations
- Previous clinic or medical office experience preferred; dental clinic experience is highly advantageous
- Strong computer skills including familiarity with dental practice management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining professionalism and positive attitude
