Dental Receptionist/Dentrix experience

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist with experience using Dentrix to join our vibrant dental team. This role is vital in creating a welcoming environment for patients while ensuring smooth administrative operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of dental terminology, and proficiency with Dentrix Acsend. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using Dentrix Ascend and other dental office management software
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing
  • Collect payments, perform medical collections, and manage billing procedures with accuracy
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including medical history forms and treatment plans
  • Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately
  • Assist with patient intake, appointment confirmations, and follow-up communications
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist with Dentrix expertise
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing practices
  • Ability to handle medical collections and perform insurance verification confidently
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual abilities are highly desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills including 10-key typing for efficient data entry
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and healthcare privacy regulations
  • Previous clinic or medical office experience preferred; dental clinic experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong computer skills including familiarity with dental practice management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft
  • Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining professionalism and positive attitude
