DENTAL RECEPTIONIST/PATIENT COORDINATOR- Experience Required

What you’ll do

• Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk operations with enthusiasm and professionalism.
• Schedule appointments efficiently using Open Dental
• Verify insurance information and file insurance claims to ensure smooth billing processes.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation review and medical records management.
• Handle phone inquiries with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient questions and concerns promptly.
• Process payments and manage medical collections in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with the dental team to coordinate care plans and ensure optimal patient service.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized reception area, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.

Basic qualifications

• Strong computer skills
• Familiarity with dental terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding practices.
• Submit dental insurance claims
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of OPEN DENTAL software
• Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of dental billing processes and insurance verification procedures is advantageous.
• Experience working with multi-line phone systems in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
• A background in health information management or medical office management will set you apart.
