Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate EXPERIENCED Dental Receptionist/Treatment Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, answer multi-line phone systems, and manage patient check-in/check-out procedures with professionalism and efficiency
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring optimal patient flow
- Review and update medical records and documentation in EMR systems while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for health information management
- Assist patients with intake forms, medical history updates, and explaining treatment plans; coordinate care plans with dental providers
- Handle medical billing and collections by submitting claims via CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and processing payments through Meditech or similar platforms
- Maintain accurate filing of medical records, insurance documents, and office correspondence; ensure compliance with HIPAA standards
- Support the dental team with clerical tasks such as data entry, typing reports, and managing office supplies to ensure smooth clinic operations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a medical receptionist or dental receptionist with clinic or dental office experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Dentrix
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and multi-line phone systems
- Knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), insurance verification processes, and health information management standards
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information discreetly while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and strong organizational abilities
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Strong attention to detail for documentation review, billing accuracy, and appointment scheduling efficiency
- Office management skills including filing, data entry (10 key typing), and administrative support within a fast-paced environment
