Position Summary:
We are seeking a relationship-driven, community-focused Dental Recruiter to lead all hiring and retention efforts across our growing practices. This individual will be responsible for attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent, including dentists, hygienists, and support staff while building strong connections within Smalltown communities the Smalltown Way. The ideal candidate thrives on personal relationships, creative recruiting strategies, and long-term team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for all positions, including dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and administrative team members
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of candidates through networking, outreach, and community involvement
- Build relationships with dental schools, hygiene programs, and local organizations to create consistent candidate flow
- Create and implement recruiting strategies tailored to Smalltown markets
- Manage job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and offer processes
- Partner with Service Co. to understand staffing needs and workforce planning
- Serve as a brand ambassador by traveling to dental schools, career fairs, and networking events to attract top talent
- Develop strategic partnerships with dental education programs to support long-term recruiting efforts
- Engage with prospective candidates through on-campus events, presentations, and one-on-one conversations
- Other duties as assigned
Retention & Employee Engagement:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve employee retention and satisfaction
- Conduct regular check-ins with team members and leadership to assess engagement and identify concerns
- Assist with onboarding to ensure a smooth and welcoming new hire experience
- Monitor turnover trends and provide recommendations for improvement
- Support culture-building initiatives across practices
Qualifications:
- Previous recruiting experience required (healthcare or dental preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to connect with candidates in a genuine, community-focused way
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple roles and priorities
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Experience with retention strategies or HR functions is a plus
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
