Dental Surgical Assistant- Perio Office!

Periodontics and Dental Implants of Central Park is a state-of-the-art, privately-owned periodontics and dental implants practice. Our practice utilizes cutting-edge technology including but not limited to Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF), FormLabs 3D printing, Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) x-ray, Fotona lasers, and digital Trios intraoral scanning to diagnose periodontal disease and perform periodontal plastic and regenerative surgery safely and effectively. Additionally, our office is fully licensed and outfitted to perform in-office oral and intravenous (IV) sedation.

We are looking for a surgical dental assistant that is willing to work in the full scope of chairside assisting duties performed in periodontal surgery. We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to support our office of two doctors and team members. We are willing to train the right person with a positive, enthusiastic attitude to join our team - we will offer training of all aspects of position available for the perfect fit.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

· Seating patients, performing patient intake, and preparing patients for their scheduled procedures

· Monitoring and recording during surgery with and without intravenous sedation

· Chairside assisting in periodontal consultation, surgical, pre-operative, and post-operative appointments

· Patient education in pre-operative and post-operative instructions

· Sterilization and processing of instruments

· Phlebotomy and handling of blood products - onsite training available

· Documentation of patient care - note taking and referral letter writing

· Communication and interactions with referring dental offices and their team members

Qualifications

· One year of dental assisting experience required*

- One year of surgical assisting experience preferred.

· CPR certification preferred but can obtain after hiring*

· X-ray certification preferred but can obtain after hiring*

- Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination (DAANCE) preferred https://www.aaoms.org/continuing-education/certification-program-daance

· Phlebotomy experience preferred

· Independent critical thinker with a team-first mentality

· Customer service experience

· Interest in facial esthetics – neurotoxin, dermal filler, laser resurfacing, etc.
