Dental Treatment Coordinator/ Receptionist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Treatment Coordinator/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming experience while managing appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient records with precision. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process
  • Manage appointment scheduling using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily patient flow
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance benefits explanation, and handle insurance claims processing efficiently
  • Review and update patient medical records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist patients with intake forms, explain treatment plans, and address questions regarding billing or insurance procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation review for treatment authorizations, referrals, and care plans
  • Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing excellent patient service and redirecting calls as needed

Skills

  • Extensive experience with dental office management software including Eaglesoft and Dentrix; familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Meditech or Epic is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and insurance verification procedures including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines
  • Proficient in medical billing, coding, documentation review, and health information management practices
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (including 10 key typing)
  • Exceptional phone etiquette, customer service skills, and ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently
  • Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively
  • Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology such as Care Plans is advantageous
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure confidentiality of patient information
  • Strong organizational skills with clerical experience in filing, medical records management, and front desk operations
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team approach in a busy clinical setting

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
