Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary liaison between patients, dental providers, and insurance companies, ensuring smooth communication and efficient management of treatment plans. Your expertise will help patients understand their dental care options, facilitate insurance verifications, and coordinate treatment scheduling. Responsibilities

  • Review and explain dental treatment plans to patients, ensuring they understand procedures, costs, and payment options
  • Verify insurance benefits and coverage using systems such as Epic, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Meditech
  • Coordinate with insurance companies for pre-authorizations and claims processing in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Manage patient scheduling for treatments and follow-up appointments using EMR systems like eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth
  • Assist with medical billing, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and documentation review to ensure accurate recordkeeping
  • Maintain comprehensive patient records and ensure all documentation aligns with health information management standards
  • Provide exceptional customer service via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear communication and professional phone etiquette
  • Support clinic operations by handling intake procedures, filing medical records, and performing administrative tasks such as data entry and typing

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dental office administration or clinic support roles with familiarity in dental terminology and medical billing processes
  • Strong knowledge of Dentrix.
  • Experience with insurance verification, medical coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), Medicare procedures, and HIPAA compliance
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and 10-key typing skills
  • Ability to review Dental documentation accurately and coordinate care plans effectively
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
  • Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred along with strong organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with a friendly demeanor suitable for front desk interactions and patient service roles
  • Knowledge of Dental environment operations is advantageous
