Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

Minimum Education and/or Experience Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine

• One (1) year of general dentistry experience

Required Certifications and Licenses

• Must have and maintain current dental licensure within the State of Georgia

• Must have a current DEA registration

• Must have or attain a BLS Certification prior to the first day of employment

Preferred Qualification

• Experience working in correctional medicine

Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds with prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting at a desk, viewing a computer and reading a variety of materials. Must be able to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with your hand or hands. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks, such as typing for extended periods of time.

Summary

The Dentist is responsible for providing comprehensive dental care and treatment to patients, ensuring compliance with facility regulations and quality care standards. This role requires clinical expertise, documentation accuracy, and adherence to security protocols. The Dentist is also responsible for recommending strategies for optimal delivery of dental care and maintaining clinical practice policy and procedures, quality assurance and improvement processes. This position will report directly to the Chief Medical Director.
