About Us:
Serenity Care Health Group is a FQHC-LAL that is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate healthcare services to our diverse community. As we expand our services, we are launching and growing an oral health program that will evolve into a full-service dental practice. We are seeking a Dentist to serve as Dental Director and help lead this exciting phase of growth.
Position Overview:
The Dentist / Dental Director will play a key role in establishing and expanding dental services at Serenity Care Health Group. The position will initially be part-time (three days per week), with a primary focus on oral health assessments, preventive screenings, and patient education. As the dental program develops over the coming months, the role will transition to full-time with the launch of a comprehensive dental practice providing care for children, adults, and seniors alike. The Dental Director will also provide clinical leadership, oversee operations, and help shape the long-term vision of dental services.
Phase 1 – Oral Health Program Launch
- Conduct oral health assessments and dental screenings
- Provide preventive oral health education and care coordination
- Identify treatment needs and support referral planning as needed
- Develop initial dental workflows, documentation standards, and protocols
- Collaborate with medical providers and leadership to support integrated care
- Participation in QI Committee and Serenity Care Health Group related activities
Phase 2 – Dental Practice Expansion
- Lead the development of a full-service dental practice
- Establish clinical protocols, infection control standards, and quality assurance processes
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and supervising dental clinical staff
- Assist with equipment selection, operatory setup, and service expansion
- Serve as clinical leader and Dental Director for Serenity Care Health Group
Overall Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments for patients, including screening for oral diseases and evaluating overall dental health.
- Provide recommendations for treatment and referrals to appropriate specialists when necessary.
- Document all findings and assessments accurately in the patient's medical record.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care to maintain oral health.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
- Active, unrestricted dental license in California
- Completion of National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) or Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE
- Strong knowledge of preventive oral care practices and dental terminology.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a clinical setting.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior leadership or Dental Director experience
- Experience in community health, integrated care, or growing practices
- Passion for building services and mentoring clinical teams
- Familiarity with community health, FQHCs, or integrated care settings
- Experience with budgeting, procurement, and resource planning in a clinical setting
- Familiarity with eCW
