Come join the Forsyth County Elections Department! We are hiring a Department IT Support Technician. The Department IT Support Technician provides technical and operational support to the Board of Elections office with respect to managing the testing, programming, repairing, and maintenance of the voting equipment. This position will oversee and maintain the warehouse facility and inventory of all voting equipment and supplies. Additionally, this position will assist with the maintenance of the county-wide geocode and jurisdiction files in the voter registration database, website management, public record requests, data statistics analysis, database management, ballot allocation, precinct support and post-election audits. The Department IT Support Technician also provides troubleshooting support to all departmental staff for office hardware and software issues

163-27.2(f): “A county board of elections shall require a criminal history record check of all current or prospective employees of the county board of elections, as defined in G.S. 163-37.1(a)(1), who have or will have access to the statewide computerized voter registration system maintained under G.S. 163-82.11 and for any additional position or function as the State Board may designate.
A successful candidate should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively with users of varying skill levels.
Ability to work under time constraints and other demands.
Ability to develop and present computer-related training.
Ability to design and produce complex reports.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Adaptability and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Strong organizational skills, especially during high-pressure election periods.
Graduation from high school or equivalent and three years of relevant experience working with computer systems or technology.
Must have a valid N. C. driver's license.
Elections management experience or post-secondary degree in Information Systems or Computer Science preferred.
