Department of Home Affairs - Regional Support Officer

The Regional Support Officer works collaboratively with the Regional Executive Officer (REO) to support the Minister-Counsellor who performs the role of Regional Director Mekong Region, with responsibility for Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. As Regional Support Officer, you will support teams across the region to deliver multiple projects with tangible outcomes on an ongoing basis.

The role supports strategic projects across Home Affairs’ Mekong responsibilities, with particular focus on immigration and strategic engagement. It involves planning, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and contributing to regional initiatives that strengthen capability and compliance.

The job holder will work flexibly to provide executive support to the RD, undertake a range of administrative, coordination and reporting tasks on behalf of the Mekong regional office, including assisting with training coordination to ensure Home Affairs Mekong maintains a fully trained and knowledgeable workforce. This role requires the highest level of discretion in dealing with operational information from across the Mekong region.
