Job Overview

The Deployment Implementation Manager oversees the team responsible for deploying Scale Computing’s network and firewall solutions across multi-site customer environments. This leader ensures deployments meet timelines, quality standards, and customer requirements while supporting the professional growth of the Deployment Technicians. The manager will coordinate across departments, vendors, and customers to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and drive successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Oversight

• Manage the Deployment Technician team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Ensure technicians & team leads follow installation SOPs, deployment guides, and QA requirements.
• Schedule deployment resources for customer installations across multiple time zones and regions.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Project & Operational Management

• Oversee day-to-day installation scheduling, coordination, and execution for network/firewall rollouts.
• Collaborate with Scheduling, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure project readiness and timely delivery.
• Monitor deployment progress via Jira, scheduling software, and internal dashboards, escalating risks as needed.
• Implement metrics and KPIs for deployment timelines, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Customer & Vendor Collaboration

• Act as the primary point of escalation for field issues during installations.
• Coordinate with customers and third-party vendors to ensure site readiness and smooth deployments.
• Review post-install documentation, QA reports, and process improvement recommendations.

Technical & Process Support

• Create and support standardization of deployment processes, documentation, and automation initiatives.
• Partner with engineering teams on deployment best practices, tool enhancements, and platform rollouts. Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and operational standards across all deployments.

Requirements:

Required

• 5+ years of experience in network deployments, IT field services, or technical operations.
• 2+ years in a people leadership or project management role.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, firewall configuration).
• Experience with multi-site deployments and vendor coordination.
• Proficiency with collaboration tools (Slack, Google Workspace, Jira) and project tracking platforms.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Networking, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Familiarity with network management platforms.
• Experience with SD-WAN, firewall deployments, and PCI compliance standards.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work 3 days per week in-person at our Austin office
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
