JOB The Deputy Auditor/Treasurer - Customer Service & Tax Processing provides customer service to the public and supports the daily operations of the Auditor’s Office by processing financial transactions, assisting with property transfers, and responding to inquiries related to taxes, assessments, passports, elections, and other statutory functions. This position involves frequent interaction with the public, accurate handling of financial information, and compliance with state and county requirements. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Greets members of the public and responds to questions or concerns in person, by phone, or other communication methods; receives and routes calls to appropriate staff.

Collects and processes current and delinquent property tax payments, issues receipts, posts payments, verifies account codes, and ensures accuracy of county financial records.

Provides customer service related to property transfers by reviewing legal descriptions, verifying delinquent taxes, collecting state deed tax and mortgage registration tax, and certifying transfers once requirements are met.

Processes Certificates of Real Estate Value (CREV) electronically and ensures compliance with statutory requirements.

Processes daily manual warrants and other financial documents.

Assists with election-related duties, including preparing ballot boxes, mailing absentee ballots, assisting in-person absentee voters, assisting on election night, and processing election results.

Provides customer service for passport applications in accordance with federal requirements.

Prepares certificates of indebtedness for state reporting.

Maintains Solid Waste Fees and other Special Assessments.

Performs related duties as apparent or assigned.

Work Environment-
Work is primarily performed in an office environment located in the Kandiyohi County Office Building.

Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.

Ability to perform movements including walking, bending, turning/twisting, kneeling, squatting, climbing, reaching, grasping, and fine finger manipulation on an occasional to continuous basis.
