Deputy Chief Engineer (E&I)

Main Responsibilities

Lead a team of E&I engineers to perform all E&I engineering functions required to plan and execute surface facility projects.

Co-ordinate with other engineering discipline leads and project leads for development of project scope, cost estimates and timelines.

Handle all procurement activities related to E&I material and services from start till completion of jobs.

Manage/approve preparation of proposals for E&I related projects and/or update E&I related details in other projects during Project Definition and Conceptual stages and support E&I discipline engineering in carrying out Basic Engineering, electrical load calculations, earthing calculations, cathodic protection and definition of instrument and control philosophy in coordination with Process Engineers.

Manage/approve and assist the discipline engineers for monitoring the E&I engineering works performed by contractors engaged for FEED, Basic / Detailed design, EPCC contracts and other technical studies. Such engineering work includes development of SLD, P&IDs, technical / equipment specifications, engineering / evaluation reports, I/O list, Cause & effect matrix, DCS and ESD logic developments etc. and participation in HAZOP, SIL/LOPA, F&G Mapping Study and assist in plant commissioning. Ensure Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering deliverables are fulfilled as required by contract and meet project, HSE, cost and time objectives.

Participate in the process of selection of contractors / service companies to ensure availability of required services well in time and lead procurement activities related to E&I.

Liaise with other disciplines within the department at office, other departments in the Company (Production, Subsurface, HSE, etc.) and provide technical support to the site team to resolve E&I engineering problems encountered in projects from project initiation to project execution stages and ensure that all relevant standards, procedures and contract documents are being followed.

Qualification

Graduation in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation/ Mechatronics Engineering.

Professional Competencies

Knowledge of applicable Engineering Codes & Standards/Best Practices, Project Management, and QA/QC aspects of Oil & Gas surface facilities projects. Knowledge and experience of Oil & Gas production facilities processes, Process Hazard Analysis (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, SIL/LOPA studies, etc.).

Conceptual and analytical skills.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, team building and leadership skills.

Ability to supervise and develop junior engineers.

Experience

At least 12 years of relevant industry’s experience.
