Deputy Corrections Officer

Full-time: $24-$25 per/hour (depending on certification and experience.)

*Sign on Bonus: $1000 (Details provided upon offer)

Job Summary
The Deputy Corrections Officer plays a vital role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. This position involves supervising inmates, enforcing rules and regulations, and ensuring a secure environment for both staff and inmates. The Deputy Corrections Officer will be responsible for monitoring activities, responding to incidents, and assisting in the rehabilitation of offenders.

Duties

  • Supervise inmate activities and ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify potential security risks or violations.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and incidents, utilizing conflict management skills to de-escalate situations.
  • Administer first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all individuals within the facility.
  • Prepare detailed reports regarding incidents, inmate behavior, and any other relevant observations for record-keeping purposes.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed to maintain order and security.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills in security practices, conflict resolution, and emergency response.

Qualifications

  • No previous experience in law enforcement, military service, or security is needed.
  • Strong understanding of conflict management techniques and ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating independent judgment when necessary.
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert at all times.
