The mission of CCA is to avail comprehensive statewide services to all child abuse victims and their families through collaboration, systemic change, public awareness, prevention, and advocacy.

Job Purpose:
The Deputy Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing CCA’s statewide program operations, CAC membership services, and training and education initiatives. This position serves as the Executive Director’s partner in advancing CCA’s mission, ensuring high-quality program implementation.
The Deputy Director provides strategic leadership, supervises staff, manages program deliverables, and represents CCA with key partners.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7-10+ years in nonprofit management, operations, or leadership, with several years in a supervisory role.
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs, supervise staff, manage grants, and work effectively with multidisciplinary partners.
- Ability to travel within Connecticut to provide onsite support, training, and monitoring.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tracking platforms (e.g., Outcome Measurement System).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Organizational Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as a core member of CCA’s leadership team, supporting strategic planning, organizational development, and statewide coordination efforts.
Program Oversight
- Provide leadership and oversight for CCA’s major programs, including Child Advocacy Center (CAC) membership services, MDT coordination support, human trafficking initiatives, prevention work, and statewide capacity-building efforts.
- Lead program planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure alignment with CCA’s mission and quality standards.
- Monitor program performance, prepare reports, and support continuous quality improvement across all CCA initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with CACs, MDTs, DCF, law enforcement, prosecutors, medical providers, advocacy organizations, and other partners to strengthen Connecticut’s coordinated response to child abuse.
CAC Membership Services
- Oversee CCA’s statewide membership structure for accredited CACs and affiliated MDTs.
- Support CAC Directors and MDT Coordinators through technical assistance, peer learning opportunities, and resource development.
- Ensure CACs and MDTs have access to updated standards, policies, tools, and best practices.
- Coordinate statewide membership meetings, leadership circles, and working groups.
- Lead efforts to strengthen accreditation readiness, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary collaboration across CACs.
Training & Education Oversight
- Provide leadership for CCA’s Training & Education portfolio, including statewide training curricula, e-learning modules, and professional development offerings.
- Oversee the development and delivery of core trainings, including advocate training, MDT/CAC orientation, minimal facts/discovery modules, trauma-informed care, and discipline-specific learning.
- Ensure training content aligns with National Children’s Alliance (NCA) standards, evidence-informed practices, and Connecticut-specific protocols.
- Support staff and contractors in curriculum development, facilitation, and evaluation.
- Expand partnerships with universities, state agencies, and professional organizations to enhance training capacity and reach.
Staff Supervision & Internal Operations
- Supervise program staff, consultants, interns, and project teams as assigned.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Support internal systems such as Coalition Manager, learning management platforms, and program data tracking.
- Assist with internal policies, communication structures, and organizational improvements.
Advocacy, Communications & External Relations
- Support the Executive Director in statewide advocacy efforts related to child abuse response, victim services, human trafficking, and prevention.
- Assist in preparing public statements, presentations, educational materials, and reports.
- Cultivate collaborative relationships with funders, state agencies, nonprofits, and community partners.
- Act as a thought partner to the Executive Director, providing guidance on program direction, quality assurance, and organizational priorities.
- Represent CCA at statewide meetings, task forces, and professional convenings.
- Oversee selected grants, contracts, and statewide initiatives to ensure effective implementation and compliance.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
