This position serves as the Deputy Director, functioning as a principal strategist and legislative diplomat for Colorado’s Unclaimed Property Program. This position is responsible for analyzing the legal framework of the program across the United States to identify emerging trends, legal precedents, and best practices, and integrating them in Colorado’s statutory model, defending it before the General Assembly, and ensuring its success through sophisticated fiscal modeling and national benchmarking. Simultaneously, this position acts as the public face and chief educator of the program, transforming complex statutes into accessible public services and high-compliance business environments.

Experience only:
Eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in legislative analysis, public policy development, regulatory compliance, government affairs, program administration, legal research, fiscal analysis, unclaimed property administration, or a related field. At least two years of experience must include supervising professional staff.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related field AND four (4) years of professional experience in legislative analysis, public policy development, regulatory compliance, government affairs, program administration, legal research, fiscal analysis, unclaimed property administration, or a related field. At least two years’ experience must include supervising professional staff.
