We are looking for a
Deputy Environmental and Social Compliance Manager
to work within the Environmental and Social team in
Bandırma-Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli High Standard Railway Project.
Job Description
:

Support the Head of Environment and Sustainability in monitoring and ensuring ongoing compliance with the BBYO Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), national E&S legal requirements, and other relevant E&S documentation.

Assist in ensuring that established commitments continue to be implemented in line with international finance institutions (IFI) expectations, project budget, and schedule.

Assist the Head of Environment and Sustainability during IFIs’ due diligence process by acting as a supporting point of contact, helping manage contractor-related issues, and coordinating with the client and other stakeholders.In cooperation with the project’s technical team develop and monitor the implementation of environmental and social procedures, programs and systems for the project.

Coordinate the Environmental and Social Action Plan implementation by the project’s technical team, AYGM and other stakeholders

Undertake site visits; to monitor environmental and social impacts management progress of the projects

Prepare Environmental & Social quarterly/annual monitoring reports and other sustainability reports on regular basis

Providing E&S guidance to the Lenders, Lenders’ Environmental and Social Consultant, AYGM and other legal authorities during site visits

Leading the site E&S Team made up of environmental engineers, biodiversity expert, CLOs, RAP/LRP Specialists, archaeologist and maintain relationships other project-level functional groups to coordinate integration of project-specific environmental and social requirements

Exchange correspondence/meet with legal authorities related with E&S issues on behalf of project management
Requirements:
-
Excellent knowledge and implementation experience of related national laws and regulations and international finance institutions’ standards such as IFC Performance Standards, EBRD Performance Requirements and Equator Principles,

Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering,

Minimum 10 years of experience in large scale construction projects which were financed under international project finance schemes,

Experience in linear construction projects (roads, railways, pipeline, etc) is a plus,
-
Implementation experience of a comprehensive livelihood restoration program is a plus,
-
Familiarity with United Nations Global Compact, Climate Change GHG accounting methodologies, or similar standards, are a plus,

No restriction to travel in and abroad,

Advance oral and written communication skills in English,
Advance level of MS Office knowledge (Excel, Power Point etc.).
